WAKARUSA- Goldie Elizabeth Ramer, 98, of Wakarusa, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born March 25, 1914, in Goshen, to Christian B. and Minnie (Kreider) Huber.

She married Edward Ramer Feb. 1, 1936, and he died Sept. 18, 1978.

Surviving are a son, Dean (Julia) Ramer of Goshen; daughter Mary (Larry) Kirkdorffer of Milford; grandchildren Kevin (Cheryl) Ramer, Randy (Theresa) Ramer and Lonnie (Laura) Ramer, all of Goshen, Connie (Bradley) Eby of Nappanee, Christine (Steven) Dahlgren of Riverside, Calif., and Cheryl (Randall) Miller of Milford; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Edward; grandchild Lynn Ramer; great-grandchild Curtis Ramer; and brothers Frank and John Huber.

Goldie worked at the Old Bag Factory, Wolfberg's and as a nanny, but was primarily a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren and loved to sew, do hand work and was quilting up until the week she died.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, service at the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren, 65575 C.R. 11, Goshen.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Pastor Mark Bendes, Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren, will officiate the service.

GOSHEN - Roy W. Ramer, 92, of Goshen, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at home.

He was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Union Township, Elkhart County, to Noah and Emma (Weaver) Ramer.

He married Mary Elizabeth (Bechtel) Ramer Oct. 17, 1943. She died June 7, 2004.

His children, Evelyn (Lester) Martin, Carolyn (Glenn) Martin, Marvin (Charlene) Ramer, Marlene Martin, Alta (Stanley) Martinand Ina (Ron) Martin; 51 grandchildren; and 130 great-grandchildren survive.

His grandson, Edward Martin, and son-in-law Carl Martin predeceased him.

He was a member of Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church, where he was ordained to the ministry in 1967.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, and from 2 to and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 28, all at Harrison Christian School, Goshen. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mennonite Gospel Missions to Haiti.

GOSHEN - Lois A. Ramseyer, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.

She was the sixth child born to Allen W. and Anna Inez (Shupe) Kuhns on Jan. 5, 1919, in Harper, Kan.

Her first three months were spent in the nursery at Bethel Hospital, Newton, Kan., while her mother recuperated from pneumonia.

The family moved to LaJunta, Colo., in 1919. She was baptized at age 10 in LaJunta Mennonite Church by Bishops J.A. Heatwole and Allen H. Erb.

She attended LaJunta schools, then Hesston Academy. In the fall of 1943 she entered the three-year program at Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing in LaJunta.

She worked one year at LaJunta Mennonite Hospital, three years at Mennonite Deaconess Hospital, Beatrice, Neb. and three years in South Korea, following the war.

After her marriage in 1956 to J. Woodrow Ramseyer, she was a homemaker and nurse in Goshen. She met Woodrow in Korea, where he was a PAX volunteer under the MCC Relief Program. At the end of the three-year term, they were married at MCC Headquarters in Tokyo by Don McCammon and Norman Wingert.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow; two daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" (Tim) Robie of Goshen and Sharon (Jon) Sivanich of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Robert Ramseyer of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren, Ian Robie and Emily (Glen) Robie Judd; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam (Bob) Liechty, Berne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson; four sisters; and three brothers.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m., funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at College Mennonite Church. Pastors Pamela Yoder and Rose Widmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MCC or LaJunta Mennonite School of Nursing Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Mennonite Education Agency, 3415 Benham Ave., Suite 2, Elkhart, IN 46517.

Ramseyer, Lois A. Kuhns, 94, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana died January 19, 2013 at the same place. She was born January 5, 1919 at Harper, Kansas to Allen W. and Anna Inez (Shupe) Kuhns. In 1956 she was married to J. Woodrow Ramseyer, who survives.

She was born April 10, 1926 at Deer Creek, Grant County, Oklahoma to Emil Albert and Edna Christine (Wicke) Dester. Emil was born April 22, 1891 and died March 31, 1986. Edna was born May 14, 1894 and died December 13, 1978.

On August 4, 1950 at Deer Creek, Oklahoma she was married to Raymond Richard Regier, who was born August 1, 1924 and survives.

Surviving are children, Patrice Regier Krause (spouse: Jim Krause); Bruce Regier (Spouse: Sarah Regier); and Christine Regier Toews (spouse: Bruce Toews); three
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Eugene Dester (spouse: Daisy Dester); Delbert Dester (spouse: Lois Dester); and James Dester (spouse: Nancy Dester).

Three brothers, Marvin Dester, Wilbur Dester, and Ralph Dester, and a sister, Margaret Dester preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held January 21, 2013 at Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, Kansas. Burial of ashes will be at Hebron Cemetery, Harvey County, Kansas, at a later date.

He was born in Leola to the late Mariah (Burkholder) Reiff and the late Elam, husband of Ada Reiff. Chester was the husband of Anna M. (Martin) Reiff.

He was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. Chester was a farmer.

In addition to his wife and stepmother, he is survived by his children, Lydia, wife of James Sensenig of Narvon, Esther, wife of Norman Zimmerman of Charles City, IA, Ivan, husband of Mable (Horning) Reiff of Leola, Lucy, wife of Leslie Martin of Savannah, NY, Barbara, wife of Joshua High of Ephrata; 27 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul, husband of Verna Reiff of Leola, Edwin, husband of Emma Reiff of Leola; 6 sisters, Alta Rissler of Leola, Mary, wife of Allen Zimmerman of East Earl, Vera, wife of Walter Brubaker of Kutztown, Esther, wife of Benjamin Oberholtzer of Shiloh, OH, Edna Martin of New Holland, Lizzie, wife of Aaron Horning of Shiloh, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Zimmerman.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ivan Reiff residence, 350 Peace Rd., Leola. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., on Monday from the Ivan Reiff residence, with further services at 9:30 a.m. from the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Janet Reinford, 58, of 805 Frosty Road, New Bethlehem, PA, died Sunday evening, November 3, 2013.

She was born February 21, 1955, at Ephrata, PA. She married Ronald Reinford on June 21, 1975.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald, and four sons and four daughters: Regina Mack and her husband Jonathan of New Bethlehem, PA; Jerald Reinford and his wife Priscilla of Russell, MA; Jason Reinford and his wife Eileen of Hoosick Falls, NY; Joel Reinford and his wife Mabel of New Bethlehem, PA; Rosalie Martin and her husband John of Franklinville, NY; Jamie Reinford, at home; Rhonda Martin and her husband Richard of Sligo, PA; Rhoda Reinford, at home. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren.

She is also survived by her parents, Amos and Nora Hoover, Ephrata, PA, and six brothers and three sisters: Neal and Ella Mae Hoover, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA; Jay Paul and Dorothy Hoover, Mt. Preceding her in death was one infant son, Jeremy David Reinford, and one infant brother, Harold Larry Hoover.

Visitation will be at the First Church of God, Route 861, New Bethlehem, PA on Wednesday November 6, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM with funeral services on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the First Church of God with burial at the New Bethlehem Mennonite Church cemetery.

Janet was a member of the New Bethlehem Mennonite Church and had a love for her Lord, and her family, friends, and neighbors.

GOSHEN - Irene M. Rheinheimer, 89, passed away at her home Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, 2013.

She was born in Wakarusa on April 20, 1924, to Jacob and Mattie (Yoder) Miller.

On Nov. 22, 1942, she married Dr. Floyd L. Rheinheimer in Shipshewana. He died July 7, 2008.

She is survived by two daughters, Faye Gonzalez of Austin, Texas, and Anita (Paul) Yoder of Goshen; three sons, Lowell (Jun) Rheinheimer of LaFarge, Wis., Roger (Virginia) Rheinheimer of Port Angeles, Wash., and Douglas (Val) Rheinheimer of Alexandria, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth McGinnis of Elkhart and Phyllis Troyer of Millersburg; and a brother, Kenneth (Sally) Miller of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Velma Gorce and Lucille Mierau; and three brothers, Ora, Harold and Dale Miller.

A 1942 graduate of Shipshewana High School, Mrs. Rheinheimer was a member of College Mennonite Church.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at College Mennonite Church in the Gathering Room. An 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, memorial service will be at College Mennonite Church. Pastor Phil Waite will officiate. A private family burial will be in Milford Cemetery, Milford.

Rheinheimer, Irene Miller, 89, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died November 20,2013 at the same place. She was born April 20, 1924 at Wakarusa, Elkhart Co., IN to Jacob and Mattie (Yoder) Miller. On November 22, 1942 at Shipshewana, LaGrange Co., IN she was married to Floyd L. Rheinheimer, who died July 7, 2008.

Richard D. Rhine, 82, Bunker Hill, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Caring Hands Health and Rehab of Peru. He was born in Cass County on March 17, 1931, the son of Harry and Cressa House Rhine. Richard married Faye Savage on May 27, 1950, and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1978. He married Pauline Miller Myers on March 17, 1979, and she survives.

Richard was a graduate of Galveston High School and a member of Howard-Miami Mennonite Church. He was a retired Chrysler employee.

Richard enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a staunch supporter of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, evidenced by his frequent presence at school and sports functions.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Pauline, are sons, Ricky Rhine and wife Deb, Mexico, Ind., Rodney Rhine and wife Brenda, Louisville, Ky.; stepchildren, Cheryl Steinborn and husband Ken, Clayton, Teresa Miller and husband Carey, Kokomo, Ann Graber, Bunker Hill, Thomas Myers and wife Marjorie, Marseilles, Ill., Brent Myers and his wife Kimberly, Bunker Hill, Alan Myers and wife Sharon, Kokomo, and Krista Bradley and husband Wayne, Kokomo; and 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Faye; a granddaughter, Christy Graber; and three sisters, Mary Snider, Joan McKnight and Frances Scott.

A service celebrating the life of Richard D. Rhine will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church, with Pastor Ben Schlegel officiating. Burial will be in the Galveston Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Neil was born Nov. 29, 1933, near Dayton, the twelfth of 13 children to the late Webster Clay and Sarah Mabel Showalter Rhodes.

He was educated at Hilltop, Rushville and Dayton High Schools and engaged in farming. He was a member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church.

Neil was united in marriage on Dec. 9, 1956, to Ellen (Knicely) Rhodes, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Anita J. Rhodes and Laura E. Rhodes, both of Dayton; one son, Linden J. Rhodes and wife, Christie, of Singers Glen; and four grandchildren, Morgan, Grant, Cheri and Lorena Rhodes. Surviving siblings are Esther Rohrer, Ida (Wilbur) Rohrer, Norma Koogler and John (Louise) Rhodes, all of Dayton, Reuben (Margaret) Rhodes of Harrisonburg and Luke (Miriam) Rhodes of Ashland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were five brothers, Mark, Harry, Frank, Eber and Daniel Rhodes, and one sister, Edith Showalter.

The family will receive friends at the home Friday, March 8, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Dayton, Va.

Neil's nephews will serve as pallbearers and he will be laid to rest in the adjoining church cemetery.

Lois was married to James Rhodes, they were married Jan. 1, 1956. Lois was a member of First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, IN. She and her husband participated in over 40 work projects with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program in many of the 49 states. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling in their RV, meeting and working with people in the ministry of service..

Survivors include her husbandJames and a son Robert "Bob" (Maribeth Miller) of
Middlebury; a daughter Rhonda (John) Fehring of Churubusco; five grandchildren, Allen Rhodes of Indianapolis, Brian Rhodes of Elkhart, and James, Rachel, and Joel Fehring all of Churubusco; two great-grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Rhodes of Elkhart and Jaxon Edward Rhodes of Indianapolis; a sister, Delores Landvater of Halifax, PA. Lois worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kermit Bechtel in Goshen and as a community reporter for the Goshen News and the Elkhart Truth. She also served as a community appointee to the Goshen Hospital Board. She retired as a school secretary from Northridge High School

GULFPORT, Miss. - David Lee Richards, 52, passed away May 19, 2013, from a heart attack.

He is survived by a daughter, Kayla Rayanne Clark of Olive Branch; a granddaughter, Ella Jae Metzger of Goshen; his parents, B. Franklin and Ruth Richards, both of Goshen, Ind.; a sister, Brenda Cole; and a niece and nephew, Sarah and Kevin Cole, both of Nolensville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joshua David Richards.

A 1979 graduate of Goshen High School, David took great pride in being a member of the Goshen High School football team that won the 1978 state championship. He was also an avid New Orleans Saints fan.

A 25-year resident of Gulfport, he was an active member of Handsboro Baptist Church, where a memorial service was conducted on May 27. A private burial was in West Goshen Cemetery.

A memorial luncheon with family and friends will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the Shanklin Park Pavilion, Goshen.

GOSHEN - Ida Riegsecker, 90, died at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born July 28, 1922, in Elkhart County, to Sam and Sarah (Yoder) Troyer. On Dec. 9, 1943, at Griner Mennonite Church, she married Vernon Riegsecker.

He survives with children Jan (Joe) Yoder, Vert (Dennis) Miller, Gene (Judy) Riegsecker, Glen (Jeanne) Riegsecker and Gary (Carolyn) Riegsecker, Dale (Shirley) Riegsecker and Jim (Marilyn) Riegsecker; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and siblings Edith Hershberger, Ora (Mary) Troyer, Elroy (Alberta) Troyer, Floyd (Joyce) Troyer and Sam Troyer.

She was predeceased by granddaughter Shelly Watts, great-grandson Anthony Riegsecker and siblings Ada Steury and Alvin and Howard Troyer.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, June 24, at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.

Survived by three daughters and four sons: Joan Bachmeyer and her husband Heimo of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; Helen Leatherman and her husband Bruce of Tamaqua, PA; Stanley Risser and his wife Karen of Lebanon, PA; Alice Kauffman and her husband Jay of Marietta, PA; Nelson Risser and his wife Lydia of Newmanstown, PA; Lester Risser and his wife Brenda of St. Thomas, PA; and Jason Risser and his wife Connie of Nampa, ID. Florence is survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

A private burial will be at Mercersburg Mennonite Church Cemetery. A memorial service was March 9, 2013 at the Mercersburg Mennonite Church with Reverend Allen Eshelman officiating.

Verna was a home care provider from 1981-1997. She and her husband took care of 13 foster children. She was a volunteer at the Agape Shoppe in Watertown since 1980.

Rohrer, Anna Ruth Zeiset, 87, of East Berlin, PA died November 22, 2013, at Hanover Hospital Hanover, PA. Raymond loved to go on walks, read, play games, mow the lawn, do computer games, and participate in family activities. He enjoyed travel, especially to visit family, as well as spending some winters in Florida. It was special to him that he was able to attend each grandchild's high school and college graduation. He had a fun sense of humor and was a gracious, kind and thoughtful person, always thinking of others even in his last days. His desire was to live life for the glory of God.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1st, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA. A private interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at First Deaf Mennonite Church, 2270 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602. Rohrer, Raymond Eby, 83, formerly of Ronks died Oct. 26, 2013, at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA. Born in Smoketown, PA to Israel D. and Edna Eby Rohrer and stepson of the late Lydia Weaver Rohrer. He was married for 61 years to Elizabeth King Rohrer.

He graduated from Philadelphia School for the Deaf. He became the pastor of First Deaf Mennonite Church in 1973 and pastored there for 22 years. He also served as interim pastor for Orville Deaf Mennonite Church in Ohio and Frederick Deaf Church of the Brethren in Maryland. Prior to becoming a pastor he taught the deaf Sunday School for many years. He started deaf Youth for Christ, deaf youth camp, Deaf Crusade for Christ and a deaf senior citizen group. He served on the boards for several agencies: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services in Lancaster, Anabaptist Deaf Ministries in Elkhart, and American Deaf Missions. He was a longtime member of Pennsylvania Society for the Advancement of the Deaf (PSAD). His desire was to live life for the glory of God.

SHIPSHEWANA - Vernon H. Roth, 76, of Shipshewana, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, Goshen, from complications of cancer.

He was born on July 19, 1937, in Cass County, Mo., to Harvey and Mary Ada (Hershberger) Roth. On June 7, 1958, he married Julia Miller. She died March 23, 2012.

Surviving are children Marilyn Roth, Gary (Kathy) Roth, Keith (Gayle) Roth and Robert (Julie) Roth, all of Shipshewana; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Wilma Roth of Goshen and Frances Stalter of Eureka, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother, Robert L. Roth.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Forks Mennonite Church, 11435 W. 25 S., Middlebury. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10 a.m funeral services Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, also at the church. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Eugene Bontrager and the Rev. Phil Yoder. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.

GOSHEN - The spirit of Raymond K. Royer, 82, returned to his creator at 2:10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 8, 1931, to Edward and Leah (Cripe) Royer in Rossville (Clinton County).

On April 4, 1954, he was married to Barbara E. (Meador). She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters and one son, Wanda (Owen) Martin of Goshen, Dawn (Virgil) Stutzman of Vandalia, Mich., April (Steve) Swartz of Lake Odessa, Mich., Carla (Dwight) Martin of Sundance, Wyo., Charity (Jonathan) Yoder of Farmville, Va., and Eddy (Rachel) Royer of Bryant.; 45 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Herman (Carol) Royer of Nappanee.

Preceding him in death are his parents; two half sisters, Sarah Wagner and Lydia Kinsey; and a half brother, David Royer.

Raymond was a regular attendee and member of Salem Mennonite Church.

The public is invited to a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the RMYC Building, 24647 C.R. 44, Nappanee. Home Ministry of Salem Mennonite Church will officiate.

A sister, Artis (Carl) Scranton preceded him in death.

In 1983, answering the call to ministry, Jim moved his family to Harrisonburg Virginia where he attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary and received his Masters of Divinity. Following graduation, Jim began full-time ministry at Summit Mennonite Church in Barberton, Ohio, serving for 2 years. Sensing a need for change in 1988, Pastor Jim moved his family closer to home in Archbold, Ohio, where he faithfully served West Clinton Mennonite Church as lead pastor for 19 years. This was followed by interim pastorates at Bethel Mennonite Church, Bellefontaine and Mount Gilead Mennonite Church, Mount Gilead OH. He retired in 2012.

Jim will be remembered for his faithfulness to Christ, pastoral care, love of music, and passive-resistance. He was active in leadership for the Northwest Ohio Emmaus community. His past devotion of time and service to the Peace Justice Support Network of Mennonite Church USA, and his commitment to Christian Peacemaker Teams will not be forgotten.

Memorial services were held August 7, 2013 at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, OH with burial in Pettisville Cemetery, Pettisville, Fulton Co., OH.

She was born in Earl Township to the late Abraham and Lizzie (Wenger) Martin and was the wife of Paul N. Rutt with whom she shared 70 years of marriage this past August. Emma was the last of her immediate family.

She was a member of Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 daughters, Mary Jane, wife of David Seibel of Stevens, Mildred, wife of David E. Zimmerman of Lebanon, Mabel, wife of Raymond Martin of Lititz with whom she resided, Dolores, wife of Kenneth Hurst of Ephrata; 29 grandchildren; 147 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Lloyd Sensenig, husband of Ada Zimmerman of Annville, also husband of the late Minerva Rutt Sensening.

In addition to her parents and a daughter, Minerva, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brenda, wife of John Oberholtzer; a grandson, Rodger, son of Raymond and Mabel Martin; 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lester, David and Louis Martin; a sister, Mary Edna Groff.
